Carbrooke Heritage News; November 2016

The members of our Heritage Group, are fascinated by the Heritage of our Carbrooke, and are keen to encourage other members of the community to get involved with pride, in the past, present and future of our area.

We were delighted to see so many people at our most recent event,

The Long and Short Term Effects of RAF Watton on our area.' and would like to thank all who supported us.  Special thanks to Julian Horn who related the history of RAF Watton, originally formed in 1937, as the Government made forward plans, when a war seemed likely. He took us through its history, and how it may have affected the area at the time, but concluded, that as far as can be determined, RAF Watton, has not really had an effect in the long term. We raised over £70 through the raffle and donations, to be split between the Village Hall and Millenium Green.

We are keen to put on more events of this kind, and have several ideas, if anyone would like to suggest further ideas for talks, please contact us.

Our next meeting is Wednesday 16th November 7pm in the Village Hall Committee Room.

All welcome to our informal meetings.
